Play together, agree upfront
Lottery Pool & Syndicate Builder
Add members, contributions and prize-split rules, then generate a printable agreement to keep everyone on the same page.
Important — not legal advice
This tool creates an informal, plain-language agreement to help groups clarify expectations. It is not a legally binding contract and does not replace professional legal advice. Always clarify rules before pooling money, and never contribute more than you can afford to lose.
Why write it down
The quiet risk in lottery pools
Joining a pool multiplies your chances (more tickets) without multiplying your cost, which is the appeal. But when someone wins, disagreements over who contributed, how much, and who gets what are notoriously common. A clear, dated list of members, contributions and split rules written before the draw can prevent most of those problems.
Keep a record of every ticket and who paid for it. Agree whether prizes are paid to the leader and split afterward, or split at the official claim. These decisions belong in writing.

Pool FAQ
Is this a legal contract?
No. It's a plain-language agreement to clarify expectations. For significant money, consult a lawyer. This isn't legal advice.
Equal or proportional shares?
Equal shares are simplest and avoid hard feelings, but feel fair only when everyone contributes matching amounts. Proportional shares reward higher contributors. Either works — decide in advance and write it down.
How do we split taxes?
Tax treatment varies by jurisdiction and how the prize is claimed. Many pools agree that any withholding is deducted from the total before splitting, with each member responsible for their own further taxes. Clarify this in your notes.
